Pre-Procedure Lab Work Requirements
To ensure your safety and the best possible outcome, all patients undergoing awake liposuction at Blue Wolf Transformations are required to complete pre-procedure laboratory testing. These labs help us confirm that your body is prepared for the procedure and healing process.
Required Tests: CBC + CMP
All patients must complete the following:
1. CBC (Complete Blood Count)
A CBC measures your red blood cells, white blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and platelets.
This test helps us evaluate:
Anemia (low red blood cells), which may affect healing
Infection or inflammation (high white blood cells)
Clotting ability (platelet count)
Overall systemic health
Because liposuction is a medical procedure, it is important that your blood counts are in a safe range before moving forward.
2. CMP (Comprehensive Metabolic Panel)
A CMP evaluates your electrolytes, kidney function, and liver function.
This test helps us confirm:
Healthy kidney function (important for fluid and medication processing)
Healthy liver function (critical for metabolism, medication processing, healing, and anesthetic clearance)
Balanced electrolytes (sodium, potassium, calcium, and more)
Normal blood glucose
These numbers help us assess your readiness and reduce the risk of complications.
How Recent Do the Labs Need to Be?
Your CBC and CMP must be completed:
✔ Within 3 months of your procedure date
If your labs are older than 90 days, you will be asked to repeat them.
This ensures we have the most accurate and up-to-date information about your health.
